Good morning from Hideaway Ponds. I talked with a lady who stated that she didn't go to church because she didn't feel that she was worthy. Maybe that was just an excuse and maybe not. However through the years, I think I have heard them all. Years ago some one said, "I don't go to church because my uncle was such a hypocrite." Hello! How about this, "I don't go to church because I don't want to." Do you think that is probably the truth? Anyway...in 1 John 1:9, you can read this: 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.' The truth at times is, [and I have been there too] people don't want to go to church or read a Bible because them they might have to change and change takes effort and is sometimes painful. What do you think? Blessings to all of you.

Good morning from Hideaway Ponds, Louisiana. It has rained here every day for three days and off and on for a week or two. No I'm not going to complain. It was only a short time ago when we were desperate for rain. The cracks, that were in the lawn, have closed in. My little dog Heidi doesn't like the rain and it took some coaxing to get her to take her morning walk.

Here is a scipture about faith, taken from the King James...Luke 17:5 & 6...And the apostles said unto the Lord, increase our faith. And the Lord said, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by the root and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you."...What happens when a seed is planted? It grows, so our faith will grow. Do you have a sycamine tree that is in your way, holding you back, a problem that seems impossible for you to solve? Remember the mustard seed. Sometimes you have to let it take root and grow.

You probably think, "yaw what does she know?... she's good at placating but when real problems arise, can she really practice what she preaches." Well my answer is this, I have lived a long life and the experiences of life have taught me many things. I do know this, God answers our prayers when the time is right and when it is best for us. Sometimes, He has to do a work in us, before He will grant what we ask. If you have not gotten your answer, maybe you have not surrendered your life to Him. Is there something that you have in your life that is separating you from Him?

Leviticus 19:18...King James...Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of the people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord. And this is from the NIV...Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your meighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

Good morning. I drove to Baton Rouge, Saturday, to have a book signing. They had copies of my book, Mercy Triumphs already in the store. It was a lovely day for the trip. Later I drove to where the Louisiana Book Festival is going to take place , in Oct. I wanted to check it out ahead of time.

Here is the thought for the day. Luke 23:34..."Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." That was Jesus' pray when he was on the cross. Compassion is needed to heal the hurts and hearts of others.

As I look out my window at the beauty of the day and see how God has blessed Hideaway Ponds, I am full of joy!

Goodmorning. It has been glorious here at Hideaway Ponds, the last few days. The rain has stopped and the air is fresh and clean. As I gaze out through my window, I see the dollar trees that border the east side of the bass pond. We have been visited by families of ducks, that must be cross breeds as the front half of thier bodies are white and the back half dark gray.

This is what Bob and I studied yesterday: Proverbs 4:20-27...My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the well spring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil... This is from the NIV...What I think this means in a nutshell is, don't let the devil get a stronghold.

Psalms 31:24...Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord... King James version

Good afternoon, from Hideaway Ponds Recreational Resort. It is still raining every day here. We are very grateful as we have had a drought for some time. Thank you God!

I am going to Baton Rouge, Oct. 28 th, for a Book Festival. My publisher, Airleaf is paying for the booth! It is free to the public. There will be music, food and lots of authors on hand to sign their books. I am thrilled that my editor, Denise Padgett, is flying down from Michigan to take in the event.

This is a message for those who are in distress because they have been unfairly treated by someone. This is taken from today's Our Daily Bread. If you are a Christian, you are in God's hands, no matter what others may say about you. He sees your distress and in time will pay you with good. Trust Him and abide in His love.-----David Roper

Each day we learn from yesterday
Of God's great love and care;
And every burden we must face
He'll surely help us bear.---D. De. Haan

It's raining today and that is very good because we have been having a drought. "Thank you Father for the rain!" As Christians we are to be witnesses. Proverbs 11:30 'The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he who winneth souls is wise.' This is from the King James version.
